In the early morning of 03 March 2024, approximate 2,400 riders gathered to participate in a major group riding event “Pedal for the Planet” at the National Olympic Stadium of Phnom Penh.
This was a collaborative initiative by the European Union Delegation to Cambodia, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS); and Phnom Penh City Hall, designed to drive forward the climate action agenda through the power of cycling, in collaboration with the Cycling Federation of Cambodia, according to the European Union in Cambodia website.
The Build4People project staff was happy to join this meaningful event together with our Build4People Ecocity Transition Lab 2024 cooperation partner of the German government funded SMMR project (Sustainable Mobility in Metropolitan Regions in ASEAN).
“Pedal for the Planet” highlights cycling as a powerful tool for global environmental sustainability which Build4People strongly supports.
Indeed, each ordinary people can proactively contribute to a greener future and reduce their footprint by using eco-friendly modes of transport.
