On 02 October 2022 and 08 October 2022, the leaders of the Build4People Work package #1 “Behaviour Change” from Magdeburg University, Germany, gave two lectures on environmental psychology as part of a seminar for PhD students of the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP), organized by Dr. Op Vanna from the Department of Psychology (RUPP).
At first, Prof Dr Ellen Matthies, Head of Department of Environmental Psychology, introduced about the field of environmental psychology research and gave an overview of approaches to explain and foster sustainable behaviours.
During the 2nd slot Dr Anke Blöbaum continued the lecture series and gave an insight into environmental psychological approaches to investigating the effect of the natural and built environment on human experience and well-being, and references to the study of urban quality of life.
Together with the PhD students, an exciting and fruitful discussion on cross-cultural transferability and specific contextual factors in Phnom Penh developed.
