Presentation of empirical results of Build4People Work Package “Urban Green Infrastructures” at the International Forum for Geoinformatics 2023, Salzburg, Austria

Gulam Mohiuddin, Build4People WP# 4 Research Associate and Prof. Dr Jan-Peter Mund, Build4People WP# 4 Leader, both from Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (Eberswalde, Germany) presented their study findings at International Forum for Geoinformatics 2023 (GI_Salzburg) at the University of Salzburg, Austria (04 – 06 July 2023).

The study is part of ongoing research series regarding the WP4 research milestones, and this study identified urban area expansion using open-source satellite images using the cloud platform Google Earth Engine in the B4P Project area in Phnom Penh. The study considered the duration of 2013 to 2021 and found consistent urban growth in the Chbar Ampov district (Phnom Penh). The results from the study will help make informed decisions about land use and promote sustainable urban development, management, and planning. The study is accepted for publication in the upcoming volume of the peer-reviewed Journal of GI_Forum, Salzburg, Austria. The full article will be shared after the publication.
