Institute of Technology of Cambodia becomes WP#2’s research partner

At March 2020 a meeting took place in the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), followed by two more online meetings that established the terms of collaboration between WP#2 “Sustainable Building” and the schools of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Architecture of ITC. An important step in establishing this collaboration was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 2020, between ITC and the University of Stuttgart. The MoU is an important agreement for reinforcing academic collaboration in the field of the research of promoting sustainable buildings and sustainable urban development in Phnom Penh and Cambodia in general.

The agreement highlights the role of each party in conducting joint empirical fieldwork including measurement campaigns and buildings audits in residential buildings in Phnom Penh. It reinforces one of the priorities of the Build4People project to engage in and to support activities that improve the urban quality of life in Phnom Penh.

Following the signing of the MoU, there will be a more elaborate discussion, with the presence of representatives of each school of ITC about curriculum review and development (lectures and workshops) related to energy-efficient, healthy and sustainable buildings in Cambodia.
